It communicates with legislative committees, individual legislators, Pennsylvania's Medicare Carrier, and insurance companies regarding issues that impact the care of oncology and hematology patients. Additionally, PSOH develops cancer care practice recommendations as needed, utilizing the necessary best available clinical evidence and expertise. In summary, PSOH strives to improve cancer care by functioning as an advocate to both patient and practitioner by a variety of mechanisms.
