Member Benefits
Meetings
PSOH holds its day and a half annual meeting every September. The location rotates between eastern, central, and western Pennsylvania. The meeting covers a wide range of topics.
PSOH also holds regional dinner meetings on topics of interest to members.
Representation
At the national level…PSOH is a state affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and has a seat on its Clinical Practice Committee.
At the state level…PSOH has a seat on the Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee. A cancer issue is discussed at nearly every meeting. PSOH also has a seat on the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Specialty Leadership Cabinet, which provides input to the Medical Society’s Board of Trustees.
Legislative Advocacy
PSOH monitors state legislation and regulations that impact cancer care. The Society has commented on a number of bills before the Legislature and provided testimony at a hearing on off-label prescribing.
Member Communications
PSOH News is the Society’s newsletter, which keeps members up to date on what’s happening in the state and nationally in regard to cancer care.
Email and broadcast fax allow us to provide members with timely information on issues affecting cancer care and on upcoming events without adherence to publication deadlines and production schedules.
The PSOH Website, www.psoh.org, provides up-to-date information on the Society’s upcoming events, Medicare changes, and legislative and regulatory issues. It also has a member directory and a job bank for career opportunity listings.
